A relationship that began on social media has pushed two settled families to the brink of collapse, triggering a dramatic confrontation at the Kuju police outpost in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district. The alleged extramarital affair between a married man and a married woman—both parents to multiple children—has now become a sensitive law-and-order issue, leaving the police grappling with its social and legal implications.
Love Story That Began in Kerala
The case involves Rajkumar Kesari alias Bablu, a resident of Selhara Kala in Hazaribagh district, who has been married to Soni Devi for the past ten years and is the father of three children. Rajkumar had been working as a JCB operator in Kerala, where he reportedly came into contact with Rinki Devi through Facebook.
Rinki Devi, also married and the mother of four children, allegedly developed a close relationship with Rajkumar over time. What started as online friendship soon turned into a deep emotional bond. According to sources, Rinki eventually left her family and began living with Rajkumar in Kerala.
Wife’s Intervention Escalates Tensions
The situation took a dramatic turn when Rajkumar’s wife, Soni Devi, learned about the relationship. Displaying resolve, she travelled to Kerala and brought her husband back to Kuju. However, the conflict intensified when Rinki Devi also arrived in Kuju along with them.
During the journey, members of Rinki’s maternal family confronted Rajkumar, leading to heated arguments and eventually police intervention. The matter soon reached the Kuju police outpost, where both families gathered, creating a chaotic atmosphere.
Suicide Threats Inside Police Station
During questioning at the police station, Rajkumar and Rinki reportedly refused to separate, insisting that they wanted to live together regardless of social norms or legal consequences. When police officers attempted to counsel them, the situation spiraled further as both allegedly threatened to commit suicide, shocking the officers present and escalating the seriousness of the case.
Case Referred to Women’s Police Station
Considering the sensitivity of the matter and the uncertain future of seven minor children from both families, Kuju police decided to step in decisively. As tensions continued to rise, the entire case was referred to the Women’s Police Station in Ramgarh for further handling.
Police officials said efforts are now underway to resolve the complex situation through counseling and appropriate legal action, keeping the welfare of the children as a top priority.
What began as a virtual connection has now turned into a real-life crisis—highlighting how unchecked relationships can have devastating consequences not just for couples, but for entire families and innocent children caught in the crossfire.
