Patna, Bihar: Patna Civil Court has received a bomb threat for the second time in a week. The threat, sent via email from Mumbai, included slogans supporting Pakistan and warned of an explosion at 1 PM. Following the warning, the court was evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Earlier this week, on Monday, similar threats had targeted courts in Patna, Aurangabad, and Bhagalpur.
Email Threat Sent to District Judge
This time, the threat was directed at the District Judge of Patna Civil Court. At 6:27:49 AM, an email from the ID sunniya_dassan@outlook.com was sent claiming, “Long live Pakistan Kanimozhi, at 1:00 PM there will be a bomb blast at Patna Civil Court.” The email contained slogans praising Pakistan, intensifying concerns among court staff.
Court Evacuated and Security Sweep Conducted
Upon receiving the email, police immediately cordoned off the court premises and evacuated all judges, lawyers, and staff for their safety. A thorough search of the entire court campus, including judges’ chambers, was conducted to ensure no explosives were planted.
Lawyers Express Frustration Over Repeated Threats
Lawyers expressed anger over the repeated threats, highlighting that in recent months, several such warnings have been issued. They criticized the district administration for ineffective action, pointing out that those responsible for sending these threatening emails have not been apprehended. Meanwhile, police are investigating the source of the email to track down the culprits and ensure accountability.
