Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility for Attack on ISI Operative in Portugal

New Delhi: The Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate has claimed responsibility for an attack targeting alleged ISI operative Shahzad Bhatti in Portugal. In a post on social media, the gang warned that those speaking against the nation will not be spared, no matter where in the world they are.

According to the gang, masked shooters on motorcycles carried out the attack at Bhatti’s residence. It remains unclear whether Bhatti was killed or injured. Portuguese authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

The attack comes two months after India’s Delhi Police Special Cell uncovered Bhatti’s expanding network within India and arrested three of his associates in connection with a grenade attack at a police station in Gurdaspur, Punjab.

In a social media post on Sunday, the Bishnoi gang also disclosed a previously unknown operation against Bhatti in Brazil on 22 June, claiming that a special Mexican mafia team had been deployed at Tagwa Tinga, though Bhatti narrowly escaped.

Who is Shahzad Bhatti?

Bhatti is identified as an underworld figure based in Pakistan with deep ties to Pakistani intelligence agencies, running an extensive criminal network. A senior official said, “He is a key proxy for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, tasked with managing cross-border terror modules and recruiting Indian youth for high-level attacks via social media platforms.”

Besides terrorism, Bhatti is accused of running a large weapons and narcotics trafficking syndicate, using his international reach to challenge rival gangs like the Bishnoi group. Bhatti has appeared in YouTube videos, attempting to recruit Indian youth into his gang. Sources reveal that he had previously tried to enlist Bishnoi himself, but without success.
