Patna: After nearly two decades at the government bungalow on 10 Circular Road, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family is preparing to shift to their old private residence located behind the Veterinary College campus in Patna. The move comes after the government reclaimed the Circular Road bungalow, and rapid renovation work is currently underway at the new-old house to make it ready for occupation.
New Residence Details
Sources indicate that the Lalu family is expected to move in after 14 January, following the conclusion of Kharmas. Although a new bungalow in Patna’s Mahuabagh area is under construction for the family’s long-term stay, it may take a few more months to complete. Hence, the Veterinary College campus house has been prioritized as an interim residence.
Renovation Work in Full Swing
Approximately two dozen laborers are working round-the-clock to ready the house. Both interior and exterior enhancements are being implemented, including painting, finishing, and modern amenities. The aim is to make the residence comfortable, functional, and visually appealing.
Spacious Layout
The renovated house will feature five bedrooms and two large halls, ensuring adequate accommodation for the entire family. A large garden area is also being developed to enhance the aesthetic appeal and overall ambiance of the bungalow.
Mahuabagh Bungalow Still Under Construction
While the Mahuabagh residence is intended as the family’s long-term home, it will not be ready for occupancy for several months. In the meantime, the Veterinary College campus house will serve as the temporary residence. Meanwhile, the government bungalow previously allotted to Rabri Devi, as Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, may now be repurposed for official use.
With the farewell to 10 Circular Road, Lalu Yadav’s family embarks on a new chapter in their residential arrangements, balancing temporary convenience with long-term planning.
