JAMSHEDPUR – A simple, innocent line from a short video—“Kirish ka gaana sunega… dil na diya, dil na diya le beta”—has made one man an overnight internet sensation. Known to social media as ‘Viral Boy Dhoom’, the smiling face behind the clip hides a life of struggle and resilience. His real name is Pintu Prasad, and his story is as compelling as the viral moment that brought him fame.
From Tragedy to Viral Stardom
Pintu Prasad, a resident of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, is 32 years old. Despite his childlike innocence, life has not been easy for him. Orphaned at a young age, he was raised first by his grandparents, who have also passed away. Pintu has two brothers and a sister, who has supported him during illness. Sharing his hardships, Pintu says, “We had no one to rely on, except my sister who cared for us deeply.”
A Life of Hard Work
Before becoming a viral sensation, Pintu earned a living through labor-intensive jobs. He collected garbage, cleaned latrines, disposed of dead animals, swept streets, and performed other menial tasks—yet he never resorted to theft. Despite the challenges, he nurtured a love for Bollywood, especially Hrithik Roshan, the star of Krrish, which inspired the dialogue that made him famous.
Turning Point: From Exploitation to Support
Unfortunately, Pintu’s innocence was exploited by some who made him shoot videos for a few rupees while they gained millions of views online. His life took a positive turn when Astitva Foundation, Jamshedpur, recognized his talent and intervened to help him overcome his addiction.
A New Beginning
Currently undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation center, Pintu is stepping into a new phase of life—a life where his talent and struggles are truly understood and appreciated. From the streets to internet fame, Pintu Prasad’s journey is a story of resilience, hope, and the transformative power of recognition.
