Khagaria, Bihar – A shocking video from a government primary school in Jhima village, Alouli block, Khagaria district, has sparked outrage among locals. The footage shows young schoolgirls abandoning their studies to carry buckets of water, highlighting severe negligence in the school’s administration.
Students Forced to Fetch Water from Handpump
The video depicts girls filling buckets from a handpump outside the school premises and carrying them inside. Although the school reportedly has a tap and water tank, these facilities have been non-functional for a long time, forcing the students to bear the brunt. When asked, the girls said they were fetching water under instructions from the teachers, who were having their lunch in the classroom while the children worked.
Outrage Among Villagers
The video has triggered strong reactions from local residents. Many criticized the school for treating students as laborers rather than learners, saying, “Children are sent to school to study, not to carry buckets.” As of now, no official response has been received from the district administration or the education department. The public and activists are now awaiting the authorities’ action on this disturbing incident.
