Khagaria, Bihar: Counting of votes for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections in Khagaria district has begun. The district comprises four assembly constituencies—Alauli (SC), Khagaria, Beldour, and Parbatta. Among these, Parbatta is considered the most hotly contested seat this year.
Parbatta Assembly: Key Contest
In Parbatta, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, who won in 2020 on a JD-U ticket, is now contesting on an RJD ticket. His main rival is Babu Lal Shourya of LJP (Ram Vilas faction). Other candidates in the fray include Robin Smith, Vinay Kumar Varun (Jan Suraj Party), and Naresh Prasad Singh. Early indications suggest a tight contest among the five candidates.
Alauli Assembly: Triangular Battle
Alauli, a reserved constituency, is witnessing a triangular fight. Congress candidate Rambriksh Sada is in close contest with JD-U’s Ram Chandra Sada and Yash Raj, son of Pashupati Paras. The race is expected to remain highly competitive, with voter interest running high.
Khagaria Assembly: Direct Duel
Counting began at 8 AM in Khagaria constituency, where the main battle is between Chandan Yadav (Congress) and Bablu Mandal (JD-U/NDA). Historically, Khagaria has been a Congress stronghold, having been established in 1951. The constituency falls under the Khagaria Lok Sabha seat.
Beldour Assembly: Neck-and-Neck Race
Beldour also promises an exciting contest, with Panna Lal Patel (JD-U) facing off against Mithilesh Prasad Nishad (Congress). Both candidates are leading prominent campaigns, and early trends suggest a closely fought battle.
Overall District Trend
The mix of urban and rural voters in Khagaria district is creating new dynamics this election. All four constituencies are witnessing keenly fought battles with triangular and multi-cornered contests. The final results will determine the balance of power in the district and provide a crucial insight into Bihar’s evolving political landscape.
