Katni Minor Gives Birth After Being Gang-Raped by Schoolmates

Katni, Feb 3: A shocking case has come to light in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, where a 15-year-old schoolgirl delivered a baby boy after being sexually assaulted by three of her schoolmates. The crime, which took place in June 2025, remained hidden until the girl was taken to a hospital complaining of severe abdominal pain.

The girl, a Class 10 student from the NKJ police station area, was taken to a private hospital in Katni by her mother, a government school teacher. During medical examination, doctors discovered that she was eight months pregnant. Considering the seriousness of the situation, doctors performed an immediate normal delivery late Monday night, and the girl gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Victim Reveals Horrific Ordeal
During police questioning, the victim recounted the harrowing events. According to her statement, three male students from her school had forcibly assaulted her while wearing masks to conceal their identities. Threats from the perpetrators and fear of societal stigma forced her to remain silent for months, not confiding in even her mother.

Family Background
The girl’s parents are divorced, and she lives with her mother, who manages the household alone. Police say this may have contributed to the girl’s hesitation to report the crime earlier.

Police Investigation Underway
Following the disclosure, the NKJ police registered a gang-rape case. CSP Neha Pachchisiya visited the hospital to oversee the investigation and emphasized that the immediate priority is the health and safety of both the girl and her newborn. Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend the accused.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Katni community, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen protection mechanisms for minors against sexual abuse.
