Kanpur: A major road accident involving a luxury Lamborghini car created chaos near Rave 3 Mall in Kanpur on Sunday afternoon, after the vehicle allegedly driven by Shivam Mishra, son of a tobacco businessman, rammed into an auto-rickshaw and later hit a Bullet motorcycle, leaving several people injured.
According to reports, the high-speed Lamborghini first collided with an auto, and moments later struck a Bullet bike carrying two riders. The impact was severe, injuring the motorcycle riders, while a pedestrian standing on the footpath also sustained injuries.
After the crash, the driver reportedly attempted to flee the scene, but the car soon lost control and hit a roadside pole. Shivam Mishra also suffered a nose injury during the accident.
Crowd Gathers, Bouncers Misbehave
Soon after the incident, a large crowd gathered at the spot. The situation escalated when the bouncers accompanying Shivam Mishra allegedly began misbehaving with the public. Witnesses said the bouncers were following the Lamborghini in a Fortuner SUV and tried to intimidate locals after the accident.
Police reached the spot in time and managed to control the growing tension. All injured persons were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Lamborghini Seized, Front Portion Severely Damaged
Police have taken the Lamborghini into custody. The vehicle’s front section was found badly damaged due to the collision. The car was later brought to the police station for further investigation.
Claims of Delhi Police Personnel Among Bouncers
Sources claimed that some bouncers involved in the incident were allegedly Delhi Police constables, though they avoided revealing their identity. The Lamborghini reportedly carries a Delhi registration and is registered under the name of K.K. Mishra, a tobacco businessman and resident of West Marg, Vasant Vihar, Delhi.
Confirming the incident, DCP Central Atul Kumar Srivastava stated that the Gwaltoli police station team has taken the car into custody and further legal action is underway.
Controversy at Police Station
The matter further escalated when bouncers allegedly continued misbehaving with the victims even at the police station. Reports said they tried to cover the Lamborghini with a cloth cover, triggering protest from the public. Following intervention by senior officials, the cover was removed.
Police are now investigating the entire incident, including the identity of the bouncers and the circumstances under which the luxury car was being driven on a crowded city road.
