Kanpur: A luxury car accident in Kanpur has grabbed headlines after a Lamborghini reportedly hit multiple people near Rev 3 Mall on Sunday. The case has brought the name of Shivam Mishra, son of a prominent tobacco businessman, into focus.
According to police reports, an unidentified driver initially faced the FIR for the incident. On Monday morning, the Lamborghini involved was seized by the Gwal Toli police station. Shivam Mishra’s name was later added to the FIR after investigations suggested he was allegedly driving the vehicle.
Incident Details
Sources said Shivam Mishra, heir to a tobacco business, was cruising on VIP Road in Kanpur in his Lamborghini, accompanied by his bodyguards in a separate vehicle. Near Rev 3 Mall, the car reportedly went out of control, hitting an e-rickshaw, a motorcycle, and a pedestrian before coming to a halt after colliding with a pole.
The police commissioner of Kanpur, Raghubir Lal, clarified that Shivam’s name was not in the FIR initially because authorities were unsure who was driving. Meanwhile, the defense maintains that it was not Shivam driving, but a driver employed by him.

Shivam Mishra is known for his passion for luxury cars. Reports suggest the Lamborghini involved has been driven at speeds of up to 324 km/h. Following an income tax raid in 2024, Shivam reportedly purchased a private jet, further underlining his penchant for a high-end lifestyle.

Shivam’s father, K.K. Mishra, owns the prestigious Banshidhar Tobacco Group, which supplies raw materials to several well-known pan masala and tobacco brands. The company operates not just in Uttar Pradesh, but also in Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, and other states.

Shivam Mishra serves as a director in the family business and is involved in the daily operations of the company. He resides in Kanpur and Vasant Vihar, Delhi.

Reports indicate that Shivam is a collector of luxury cars, including Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche. He also owns an impressive collection of diamond-studded and multi-crore watches.
