Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh: In a chilling revelation, Kanpur Police have uncovered a gruesome crime involving a married woman and her nephew, who killed her lover after he allegedly pressured the woman’s 13-year-old daughter for an illicit relationship. The suspect’s skeleton was recovered 42 days after the crime, based on the duo’s guidance.
Details of the Crime
The victim, 35-year-old unmarried man Goralal from Banshipurwa village in Choubepur Police Station area, had been in a romantic relationship with a married woman from his village for the past four years. On the night of October 31, Goralal went missing, and his family filed a missing person report on November 2. Police investigations using mobile tracking initially failed to locate him.
According to the woman, Goralal had started targeting her 13-year-old daughter and was pressuring her for an illicit relationship. He allegedly threatened to kill her only son if she did not comply. Fearing for her children’s safety, the woman devised a plan to eliminate him.
The Murder
The woman lured Goralal to her parental home in Shahnivad village, Shivrajpur, 16 km away, under the pretext of arranging a wedding. She first gave him alcohol and, with the help of her nephew, strangled him to death. The body was then dragged into a nearby forest. Forensic analysis is being conducted on the recovered skeleton.
Police Investigation
Goralal’s family suspected foul play but lacked evidence. For 49 days, his mobile remained inactive. Recently, a new SIM card was inserted into his phone, and police traced its location to Durgapur village near Ganga Katri. The mobile was recovered from the site, but Goralal had already gone into hiding. Police continue to search for him.
This case highlights the dark consequences of coercion and threats against minors, and police are pursuing further leads to ensure justice is served.
