Fraud Details and Police Action
An SIT probing Ravindranath Soni’s operations has uncovered over ₹1,500 crore in fraud affecting 700 victims. Crucial evidence has emerged against Ravindranath and several accomplices, with initial leads pointing to his wives. Swati had allegedly guaranteed repayment to investors on behalf of her husband, while Monica’s involvement is still under investigation.
Swati’s Guarantee and NRI Complaint
NRI investor Sandeep Pandey filed a complaint with the SIT after losing ₹25 lakh (Dirhams) in the early stages of a company venture. Swati allegedly assured Sandeep that if Ravindranath failed to return the money, she would cover the loss. Several post-dated cheques were issued as guarantees. ACP Ashutosh Singh confirmed that Swati has been served a notice, and evidence against Monica is being actively collected.
Divorce: Strategic Move or Genuine Separation?
Swati, residing in Delhi, divorced Ravindranath in 2022 after a one-time settlement, reportedly receiving a substantial sum. Investigators suspect that the divorce may have been a strategic move to protect herself from legal consequences, as she and Ravindranath were frequently seen together even after the separation.
