
A violent police encounter with armed criminals linked to the Kairav Gandhi kidnapping case unfolded late Thursday night near Sai Mandir in the Bistupur area of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. During the operation, three suspects were injured by police gunfire and are currently undergoing treatment under strict police supervision.
Identities of Injured Suspects
The injured have been identified as Guddu Singh, Mohammad Imran Alam, and Rameez Raja, all residents of Bihar. The trio are known to law enforcement for multiple serious criminal cases, including kidnapping and extortion, and had been under continuous police surveillance.
Gunfight During Weapon Recovery
According to police, the suspects had disclosed during interrogation that they had hidden weapons near Sai Mandir after abducting Kairav Gandhi. Acting on this information, police reached the location late at night. During the operation, Guddu Singh allegedly snatched a carbine from Bistupur Station in-charge Alok Dubey’s bodyguard and opened fire on the police team. The officer narrowly escaped unharmed.
Police Retaliation and Recovery of Arms
In response, police fired five rounds in self-defense, injuring all three suspects. Several cartridges and three pistols were recovered from the scene.
Hospitalization Under Tight Security
The injured suspects were immediately taken to MGM Hospital for treatment, with additional police forces deployed to secure the premises.
Police Statement
City SP Kumar Shivashish stated that the suspects had long been on the police radar, with criminal networks spanning multiple districts across Bihar and Jharkhand. Authorities are investigating their contacts and broader network in both states.

The encounter is being treated as a significant action against organized crime in the city. Police continue to probe the incident thoroughly to dismantle the network associated with the high-profile kidnapping case.
