Joint NIA-ATS-STF Operation in Barabanki: Suspect Detained, Hour-Long Search Conducted

Barabanki: Teams from India’s national security agencies conducted a coordinated raid in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, detaining a young man named Ramlakhan on suspicion of involvement in unspecified activities.

According to local reports, Ramlakhan had been admitted to Hind Hospital in the city, accompanying his mother for treatment. Following this, the combined teams of NIA, ATS, and STF proceeded to his native village in the Khur Etmahaddpur area under Badosarai Kotwali for an intensive search of his home. The operation, which lasted approximately one hour, involved advanced scanning and detection equipment. No suspicious items were reportedly recovered during the search.

Barabanki Superintendent of Police, Arpit Vijayvargiya, confirmed that the central agencies carried out the morning raid and emphasized that the local police were fully cooperating with the investigation. “We do not have information regarding the specific case at this time. The agencies are conducting their work, and we are providing full support,” he said.

The action, involving multiple vehicles and a heavy security presence, has generated considerable discussion across the district. Reports also indicate that several local police officers’ mobile phones were switched off during the operation, adding to the speculation.
