Jhunjhunu: Woman Head Constable Caught Taking ₹20,000 Bribe; ACB Arrests Officer in Bhuhana Police Station Trap

Jaipur: In a major anti-corruption action, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a woman Head Constable posted at Bhuhana Police Station in Jhunjhunu district after she was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹20,000. The arrest was made following a complaint, verification process, and a pre-planned trap executed by the Jhunjhunu ACB unit under the directives of the ACB headquarters.

Bribe Demand Confirmed After Complaint

According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, the complaint was filed by a man who, along with his brother and uncle, is named in an ongoing case related to a family dispute registered at Bhuhana Police Station. The investigation of the case was being handled by Head Constable Santosh.

The complainant alleged that Santosh had demanded ₹30,000 to remove his and his brother’s names from the case and to ensure that his brother was not arrested.

Following the complaint, the ACB conducted a confidential verification process which confirmed the bribe demand. During verification:

  • On 10 November, the accused officer allegedly accepted ₹3,000
  • On 14 November, she accepted an additional ₹7,000

Both transactions verified the authenticity of the allegations.

Trapped While Accepting ₹20,000

Acting on a predetermined plan, the ACB team executed the trap on 15 November 2025. When the complainant handed over the agreed amount of ₹20,000, Head Constable Santosh accepted the cash and placed it in the right pocket of her sweater.

Moments later, the ACB team apprehended her and recovered the marked currency from her possession. Legal procedures were initiated on the spot.

Investigation Under Senior Supervision

The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Rajesh Singh, DIG, ACB Jaipur Range. The trap and subsequent investigation are being led by Deputy Superintendent Shabbir Khan and the Jhunjhunu ACB team.

Further interrogation of the accused officer is being conducted under the direction of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. The ACB has registered a case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
