Deoghar, Jharkhand: The bodies of a newlywed couple were discovered under mysterious circumstances in their rented home in the Belabagan Kalibari area of Deoghar on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased have been identified as Ravi Sharma (30) and Lovely Sharma (24), who had been married for nearly a year.
According to police, the door of the couple’s room was locked from the inside. When neighbors received no response despite knocking, they alerted the landlord, who then informed the police. Upon breaking the door, authorities found both bodies inside the room. The shocking incident quickly drew a large crowd outside the house.
A forensic team was called to the scene to collect evidence and investigate. Preliminary inquiries suggest the possibility of a murder followed by suicide, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report.
Marital Discord Since Marriage
Police revealed that Lovely Sharma was a resident of Kalikha, Deoghar, while Ravi Sharma hailed from Siwan district in Bihar. Ravi, who previously worked in Guwahati, had settled in Deoghar. Authorities learned that the couple had been involved in disputes since their marriage. A few months ago, Lovely’s family had filed a complaint at the Deoghar Women’s Police Station, after which the couple underwent counseling and reconciled.
Local sources reported that the couple had a heated argument on Tuesday night, which is believed to have preceded the tragic incident. Both families arrived in Deoghar following the discovery and are reportedly in shock. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are investigating all possible angles.
Police Investigating Multiple Theories
The Officer-in-Charge of Deoghar City Police stated, “We are examining both murder and suicide scenarios. The exact cause of death will be established only after the post-mortem report.” The incident has become a subject of widespread discussion in Deoghar. Authorities are working meticulously to uncover the truth, ensuring all possible aspects are thoroughly investigated.
