Jharkhand Prepares for Comprehensive Voter List Revision: CEO K. Ravi Kumar Issues Key Directives

Ranchi: The Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, K. Ravi Kumar, has reviewed the state’s preparations for the comprehensive revision of the electoral rolls, in line with directives from the Election Commission of India (ECI). He emphasized the need for meticulous planning to ensure a smooth and efficient Summary Revision (SIR) process.

Mapping with 2003 Voter List

K. Ravi Kumar instructed officials to maximize the mapping of the current voter list with the 2003 electoral roll. This mapping will facilitate easier filling of enumeration forms for voters whose details match with the older list, thereby streamlining the upcoming SIR process.

Zero Tolerance for Negligence

The CEO underscored that no negligence will be tolerated in electoral duties. He directed that if any Booth Level Officer (BLO) is found to be reluctant in performing assigned tasks, their reports should be escalated, leading to suspension and appointment of a new BLO. All officials at every level are required to execute their assigned responsibilities without delay or lapse.

Field Inspections and Problem Resolution

During the review, the CEO conducted a detailed examination of voter list mapping across districts. To address ground-level challenges, he instructed officials to carry out field visits to inspect issues in the mapping process, implement solutions, and accelerate the work efficiently.

Additionally, Deputy Electoral Officer Dheeraj Kumar Thakur provided all officials with necessary information via PPT to rationalize polling stations and ensure readiness for the voter list revision.
