Jealous Lover and Boyfriend Arrested in Mumbai Over 19-Year-Old Girlfriend’s Murder

In a shocking incident in Govandi, Mumbai, a 19-year-old girl was shot dead, with severe gunshot wounds to her cheek and neck. The Mumbai Police have arrested her 23-year-old boyfriend and a 25-year-old woman who reportedly had romantic feelings for the victim’s boyfriend.

Tragic Shooting in Shivaji Nagar

The victim, identified as Shifa Sheikh, was found seriously injured on a street in Shivaji Nagar. She was rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Medical examinations confirmed multiple close-range gunshot wounds, including one lodged in her head.

Complex Personal Relationships at Play

According to police sources, Shifa Sheikh was dating a local man named Guddu. Tensions reportedly arose when another woman, allegedly in love with Guddu, became involved, leading to a potential motive.

The identity of the shooter remains unclear. Residents in the area have not provided any eyewitness accounts. Shifa lived with her parents and two siblings in Kamla Raman Nagar, Govandi. Her father works as a small-scale contractor in the construction sector.

Investigation Underway

Crime Branch officials are probing whether the arrested woman played a direct role in Shifa’s murder. The Shivaji Nagar Police have registered a case of murder and launched a search for the actual shooter. Shifa’s body has been sent to JJ Hospital for post-mortem, and her parents’ statements are being recorded.

Police have also seized Shifa’s mobile phone and are questioning her friends. Additionally, Guddu’s alleged links to illegal drugs are under investigation as part of the ongoing probe.
