JDU’s Mega Plan: 1 Crore New Members and a New National President by March

Patna, Bihar: The ruling party in Bihar, Janata Dal (United), has kicked off a major organizational revamp aimed at strengthening its structure from the grassroots to the national level. The party has set an ambitious goal of enrolling one crore new members and completing internal elections for all levels by the end of March 2026.

Organizational Elections from Block to National Level
National Executive President and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha announced that the election process will start at the block level, move up to district and state committees, and culminate with the selection of the national president. The tenure of the newly elected office-bearers will be three years, covering 2025–28.

Structural Changes Across All Levels
According to Jha, every level of the party’s organization will see structural changes. The elections will begin with the smallest unit, the block, followed by the formation of district and state committees. The process will end with the election of the national president. Party MPs, MLAs, and district in-charges have been instructed to ensure transparency and strengthen the organization during this exercise.

Membership Drive Targets One Crore Members
State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha has urged party workers to accelerate the membership drive, aiming to cross the milestone of one crore members. Jha reminded workers that the favorable environment created during last year’s assembly elections should be leveraged for this campaign and future elections.

Energizing Workers Ahead of Upcoming Challenges
In a virtual meeting, heads of party cells and constituency in-charges were directed to complete their targets within the stipulated time. Party leadership believes that timely organizational elections will infuse new energy among workers. With new office-bearers in place, the JDU aims to be fully prepared for upcoming political challenges.
