JDU Hosts Grand ‘Dahi-Chura’ Feast in Patna; Nitish Samples Flavors from Across Bihar

Patna: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Janata Dal (United) celebrated the festival in traditional style with a grand Dahi-Chura feast in Patna. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended the event held at the residence of MLA Ratnesh Sada in Gardanibagh. The feast featured a special assortment of dahi-chura from different districts of Bihar, creating both a cultural and political spectacle.

A Gathering of JDU Stalwarts

The event saw the presence of several senior JDU leaders. National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, State President Umesh Kushwaha, former minister Shyam Rajak, and numerous MLAs and councilors participated. Patna Mayor Sita Sahu and National General Secretary Manish Verma were also present. The gathering highlighted both the party’s internal unity and its connection with grassroots supporters.

Flavors of Bihar on the Plate

The feast was not just ceremonial but also a culinary celebration. Special arrangements were made under the Chief Minister’s guidance to include delicacies from across Bihar: chura from Bhagalpur, curd from Begusarai, the famous tilkut from Gaya, and bhura from Bettiah. This diverse menu offered a unique blend of regional flavors, showcasing Bihar’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Political and Cultural Significance

Beyond the culinary delight, the Dahi-Chura feast served as a platform for political engagement. Party workers and leaders spent time with the Chief Minister, reinforcing organizational solidarity. The event seamlessly blended the joy of Makar Sankranti with political camaraderie, underlining JDU’s cultural roots and its connection with people across the state.
