Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar’s younger son, Jay Pawar, is set to marry Rutuja Patil this Friday, 5 December 2025. Unlike the usual high-profile weddings in Mumbai or Pune, the wedding will be held in Bahrain, marking a destination wedding for the Pawar family. The grand celebrations are expected to span four days, starting Thursday with the Mehendi ceremony and culminating in the reception on Sunday.
Wedding Details and Guest List
The main wedding ceremony and reception will take place at the Ritz-Carlton, a five-star hotel in Manama, Bahrain. Around 400 guests are expected to attend, with only a select few NCP leaders invited locally, including National Executive President Praful Patel and Maharashtra NCP Chief Sunil Tatkare. This is the second wedding in the Pawar family this season; earlier, Ajit Pawar’s elder brother Srinivas Pawar’s son, Yugendra Pawar, married in Mumbai on 30 November.
About the Bride
Rutuja Patil, Jay Pawar’s bride-to-be, holds a Bachelor of Design degree from Los Angeles. Her father, Praveen Patil, runs a consultancy firm, Elevate Age Consulting, and also operates a social media firm that played an active role in Ajit Pawar and his wife Sunetra’s election campaigns last year. Jay and Rutuja have known each other for the past ten years.
Family Background
Jay Pawar is the younger of Ajit Pawar’s two sons, the elder being Parth, whose name was previously linked to a land deal in Pune. Ajit Pawar’s wife, Sunetra Pawar, is a member of the Rajya Sabha. Given the private nature of the Bahrain wedding, some NDA and opposition leaders are expected to attend, but full guest list details have not been disclosed.
The four-day celebration is designed as an intimate yet grand affair, with traditional ceremonies including Mehendi, wedding rituals, music, and reception, reflecting the Pawar family’s prominent political and social stature in Maharashtra.
