Jaisalmer Police Nab History-Sheeted Thief After High-Speed Chase; Three Vehicles Damaged

Jaisalmer, Rajasthan: In a dramatic, movie-like operation, Jaisalmer police caught a history-sheeter and his two accomplices who were fleeing after stealing oil from a transformer. The suspects rammed three vehicles while breaking a police barricade, triggering chaos, but were eventually stopped after a 50-kilometer high-speed pursuit.

The incident occurred at Thaiyat Phante, under Jaisalmer Sadar police station. Police received information that the trio, traveling in a Bolero Camper, were heading toward Jaisalmer after stealing transformer oil from the Lathi area. Acting on the tip-off, the Sadar police set up a checkpoint where multiple vehicles were already parked.

Around 1 PM, the suspicious Bolero approached at high speed. Despite police signals to stop, the driver accelerated and smashed into three stationary vehicles while attempting to break the barricade, causing panic and damaging the cars.

The suspects then fled, prompting a relentless chase by the police. The pursuing squad followed the Bolero for 50 kilometers, eventually forcing it to halt by ramming it at another checkpoint.

Two lawyers present at the scene, Rashid Mehr and Haider Khan, sustained minor injuries and were treated at Jawaharlal Hospital before being discharged. The history-sheeter and his two accomplices were taken into custody, and the entire episode was captured on video, which has since gone viral on social media.

This daring operation highlights the vigilance and determination of Jaisalmer police in bringing offenders to justice, even under risky and high-speed conditions.
