Jaipur witnessed a historic and emotionally charged moment on Thursday as the Indian Army celebrated its 78th Army Day with a grand public parade in the Pink City. For the first time in history, the Army stepped out of cantonment and national capital limits to showcase its strength, valor, and traditions amid the general public, creating a landmark chapter in India’s military legacy.
Held along the Jagatpura Mahal Road, the parade drew massive crowds despite the winter chill, as citizens experienced the might of the Indian Army from close quarters. The highlight of the event was the breathtaking display by the Bhairav Regiment, whose precision, discipline, and combat readiness sent the enthusiasm of Jaipurites soaring.
Tribute to the Fallen at ‘Prerna Sthal’
The day began with a solemn tribute at Prerna Sthal, where senior officers of the South Western Command (Sapta Shakti Command) laid wreaths to honor soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The ceremony set a reverent tone before the commencement of the parade.
Blend of Tradition and Military Might
As the parade commenced, the audience was treated to a unique cultural-military blend. The traditional Rajasthani Kacchi Ghodi folk dance added local color and visual grandeur, earning loud applause from spectators.

The event witnessed the presence of top constitutional and military leadership. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended as the Chief Guest, accompanied by:

Shaurya Sandhya to Conclude Celebrations
While the daytime parade captivated thousands, the celebrations will culminate in the evening with “Shaurya Sandhya” at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, where jaw-dropping combat demonstrations and martial displays by Army personnel will further enthrall the audience.
