Chomu, Jaipur, December 17, 2025: In a disturbing turn of events, a family in Chomu, Jaipur district, has approached the President of India seeking permission for euthanasia, citing severe distress over a prolonged land dispute. The family alleges that local authorities, including the police, acted unjustly by forcibly evicting them from their land.
Allegations of Police Misconduct
The family claims that despite repeatedly refusing to hand over their land, police pressure led to its forceful clearance. The dispute reportedly involves a plot leased for the operation of a petrol pump. The family asserts that no consent was taken before the eviction, raising serious questions about administrative accountability.
Formal Complaint Submitted to SDM
In a bid to seek justice, the family, including Mohanlal, his wife Pushpa, and other relatives, visited the Chomu SDM office and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President. They stated that despite lodging several complaints, no relief was provided.
Alleged Fraud in Lease Process
The victims also allege fraudulent activity during the lease process. They claim that a relative and some other individuals were involved in irregularities, and the payment promised in exchange for the land was never made.
Administration Assures Investigation
Chomu SDM Dilip Singh Rathore met the family, heard their grievances, and assured a fair and impartial investigation. The case has since drawn attention across the region, with local residents closely monitoring the authorities’ next steps.
This incident underscores ongoing concerns over land disputes, administrative fairness, and legal accountability in the region, and the outcome of the investigation could set an important precedent.
