Jaipur: Jaipur is set to receive a major gift for its commuters as Sanganer Railway Station is slated to be redeveloped into a world-class facility. The foundation stone for the redevelopment will be laid by Union Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also expected to attend the ceremony.
Long-Awaited Redevelopment Begins
The plan to transform Sanganer Railway Station was approved nearly two years ago. However, construction was delayed due to the Bansalpur water pipeline project. Subsequently, the railway administration prepared a revised design, which has now received clearance, marking the formal start of construction. Upon completion, Jaipur will have its third world-class railway station, enhancing its transport infrastructure significantly.
Modern Facilities for Passengers
Post redevelopment, passengers can expect state-of-the-art amenities, including upgraded waiting halls, modern ticketing systems, improved cleanliness, enhanced security, and digital facilities. The station will be developed to provide an international-standard travel experience.
Redevelopment in Two Phases
The redevelopment will be executed in two phases. In the first phase, the station building will be refurbished. In the second phase, the Jaipur–Sawai Madhopur rail section will be doubled, and the Sanganer yard will be expanded. The existing three railway lines at the station will be increased to five, facilitating smoother train operations and better service for commuters.
Enhanced Train Operations
The expansion of lines and yard will not only improve passenger facilities but also increase operational efficiency, allowing more trains to stop and run through Sanganer. This redevelopment is seen as a crucial step in strengthening Jaipur’s overall railway infrastructure and enhancing connectivity for the region.
