Jaipur Police Launches Massive Crackdown on Illegal Hookah Bars; 16 Arrested

Jaipur Police have intensified their anti-drug campaign, targeting illegal hookah bars and nightclubs across the city. In a major operation, law enforcement raided 10 establishments, arresting 16 individuals involved in operating unauthorized hookah bars. Authorities have also seized 34 hookahs and issued fines to patrons found indulging in smoking.

Crackdown Across 10 Locations

1. Amer Area: Black Heart Café & Restaurant, Cookes, Amer. Mahendra Dayal (village Bobadi, Rai-Sar, Jaipur) was arrested. Police seized 4 hookahs, flavored tobacco, and smoking paraphernalia. Case registered under Section 4A, 21A of Cigarette & Other Tobacco Products Act (Rajasthan Amendment 2019).
2. Chitrakoot Area: The Night Garden Kitchen & Bar. Devash Bhardwaj (village Choudharies ka Mohalla, Haryana) was arrested. Police seized 2 hookahs with chillums, 8 pipes, and 2 hookah nozzles.
3. Jawahar Circle: Hub Forty Club, Gaurav Tower. Manager Anil Kumar (Indira Gandhi Nagar) arrested. Seized: 4 hookahs, 4 pipes, 4 chillums.
4. Malviya Nagar: Udi Restaurant, UDB Corporate Tower, 8th floor. Owner Jitendra Singh Bohra arrested. Seized: 4 hookahs, 4 pipes, 4 chillums.
5. Mahesh Nagar: Pacha Club, Swej Farm. Arrested: Gaurav Sharma, Harsh Sharma, Satvik Sharma, Raja Ajwani. Seized: 3 hookahs with chillums.
6. Ashok Nagar: Jarja Club & Restaurant, C-Scheme, Sahkar Marg. Manager Narendra Singh arrested. Seized: 1 hookah, 1 packet of flavored tobacco.
7. Mansarovar: Kolava Café, Mira Marg. Operator Nasir (Bhavani Mandi, Jhalawar) arrested. Seized: 4 hookahs, 4 pipes, 4 chillums, 1 open tin of Afzal Pan Ras.
8. Near Jaipur Airport: Oslo Club. Waiter Asif Khan (Mirzapur, Karauli) arrested. Seized: 3 hookahs, 3 clay chillums, 3 pipes, 2 open plastic containers of tobacco.
9. Vaishali Nagar: Sky Beach Restaurant. Arrested: Rohit Kumawat, Jatin Khinchi, Nishant Kandera. Seized: 5 hookahs, 2 black plastic containers with flavored tobacco.
10. Narayan Vihar, Mansarovar: R.E. Kitchen & Bar, Hotel Maharani Resort. Arrested: Rajesh Kumar (Nayagaon Kala, Bharatpur), Suraj Singh (Sadwa, Byawar). Seized: 2 glass hookahs with pipes and tobacco.

Police Warning:
Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal emphasized that illegal hookah bars and nightclubs will not be tolerated. Patrons and operators must beware, as raids and strict penalties will continue during the winter season, and authorities will take stringent action against violators.
