
Jaipur: The strike by low-floor bus drivers in Jaipur came to an end on Wednesday, following a successful agreement with Paras Travels Company. The settlement has brought relief and joy for the drivers, who will now enjoy an annual salary increase of ₹1,000 along with additional benefits.
Strike Disruptions Resolved
The recent strike had significantly disrupted the city’s public transport system, affecting thousands of commuters. Jaipur has approximately 200 low-floor buses, which are vital to the city’s transportation network. Due to the strike, students and the general public were forced to rely on costlier alternatives for daily travel. The conclusion of the strike has brought a sense of relief to the residents of Jaipur.
Key Agreements and Benefits
The negotiations between the drivers’ union and Paras Travels Company led to the following agreements:
- Annual salary increment: All low-floor bus drivers will receive a ₹1,000 increase in their wages every year.
- Support for families of deceased employees: The family of late employee Kuldeep Meena will receive ₹1 lakh in financial assistance.
- Assistance for sick employees: Employee Ramjeelal Sharma, currently undergoing medical treatment, will receive hospital support along with ₹1 lakh in aid.
- Group accident insurance: All drivers will be covered under a collective accident insurance policy, effective 1st December 2025.
- No punitive action: No driver will face action due to the strike, ensuring protection from workplace retaliation.
The agreement marks a significant victory for the drivers and is expected to improve labor relations and employee welfare within Jaipur’s public transport sector.
