Jaipur Changes Issuing Authority for Birth and Death Certificates; Zone Offices to Handle Applications from December 15

Jaipur: In a major relief for residents, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini has announced a significant administrative reform in the issuance of birth and death certificates. From December 15, citizens will no longer be required to visit the municipal headquarters, as these certificates will now be issued at all zone offices across the city.

Until now, residents—especially those living in distant areas of Jaipur’s nearly 40-kilometre urban spread—were compelled to travel to the main civic headquarters, causing inconvenience and additional expenses. The new system aims to simplify procedures and bring services closer to citizens.

Decision Taken in Public Interest

Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini stated that the decision has been taken keeping public convenience as a priority. Earlier, birth certificates for children born in private hospitals were issued at zone offices, while those born in government hospitals required visits to the municipal headquarters. This distinction has now been removed.

From December 15 onwards, birth certificates for children born in both private and government hospitals will be issued directly from the respective zone offices. The same decentralized process will also apply to death certificates.

Dr. Saini emphasized that the move will save time, money, and travel effort for citizens and described it as a major step toward making civic services more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly.

Marriage Certificates to Continue at Both Locations

The Commissioner has directed zone officials to ensure that the application process remains transparent, systematic, and time-bound. He clarified that marriage certificates will continue to be issued both at zone offices and the municipal headquarters, as per existing arrangements.

Applications already submitted at the headquarters up to Friday will be processed and issued from there only.

Birth certificates for children born in the following hospitals will be issued from the respective zone offices:

  • Hawa Mahal–Amer Zone:
