Jaipur Audi Accident: Constable Helped Fugitive, 7 Arrested After Police Crackdown

Jaipur, January 13, 2026: Jaipur police have made significant progress in the sensational Audi accident case that claimed one life and left four others critically injured. Authorities have arrested seven individuals, including a police constable, and have frozen the bank accounts of the main accused, Dinesh Ranwa.

The accident occurred on the night of January 9, around 9 PM, near Kharbas Circle in the Journalist Colony police jurisdiction. A speeding Audi car (DD02G5709) went out of control, crushing 16 people and damaging street stalls in the vicinity. One young man died on the spot, while four others were seriously injured.

Who Was in the Car?
The car carried four occupants:

  • Dinesh Ranwa (32) – main accused, driver
  • Mukesh Kumar Ranwa (30) – constable, Nirbhaya Squad, Jaipur
  • Pappu Jat (28)
  • Mangilal (28)

Mukesh Kumar Ranwa and Dinesh Ranwa hail from the same village in Churu district, while the other two are residents of rural Jaipur.

Fugitive Assistance and Arrests
Police investigations revealed that five other accomplices helped the accused evade arrest and tampered with evidence. They are:

  • Ashok Meena – assisted in escape
  • Sumit Kumar – helped destroy evidence
  • Bhagchand – aided in hiding the accused
  • Nitin – assisted in escape
  • Shivraj – assisted in escape

Interrogation revealed that Mukesh and Pappu called Nitin after the accident. The accused were then taken to separate locations, provided with money and essentials, enabling Dinesh Ranwa to flee.

Evidence and Investigation
Police compiled over 100 CCTV footages and other technical evidence to piece together the sequence of events. The suspects were subsequently identified and arrested from multiple locations. All seven arrested individuals are currently being interrogated to clarify their roles in the incident.

  1. Mukesh Kumar Ranwa (30) – constable, aided fugitive
  2. Pappu Jat (28) – assisted accused
  3. Ashok Meena – helped fugitive escape
  4. Sumit Kumar – destroyed evidence
  5. Bhagchand – hid accused
  6. Nitin – assisted in escape
  7. Shivraj – assisted in escape

Police are continuing the investigation and may add further charges. They are also probing whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or other substances at the time of the crash. All accused have been presented in court for further legal proceedings.
