Jabalpur Horror: Husband Gets Life Imprisonment for Killing Wife, Dismembering Body and Dumping It in Dam

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh):
In a gruesome crime that shocked the region, a Jabalpur court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife, cutting her body into pieces, and disposing of it in a dam. The court also imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the convict.

The horrifying incident took place in April 2024. According to the prosecution, the accused, Ranjeet Marko (31), had a heated argument with his wife Sarla Marko over not taking her along to a family function. During the altercation on 22 April 2024, the accused slapped his wife. Enraged, Sarla attempted to call the police by dialing 100. This infuriated Ranjeet further, who then started kicking her and eventually strangled her to death.

Body Cut into Two Pieces, Thrown into Dam
To hide the crime, Ranjeet dismembered his wife’s body into two parts, stuffed them into a sack, and threw it into the Cheeta Khudri Dam. To mislead investigators, he even filed a missing person report at Kundam police station.

However, during the investigation, police grew suspicious of his statements. Upon interrogation, Ranjeet confessed to the murder.

Court’s Verdict
During the trial, Additional Sessions Judge M.D. Razak examined all evidence and witness statements. The court found the accused guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹10,000.

Special Public Prosecutor Abhishek Dixit, who represented the prosecution, detailed how the accused had killed his wife in a fit of rage and attempted to conceal the evidence.

The court took serious note of the brutality involved and delivered the harshest punishment available to ensure justice for the victim.
