IT Professional Harassed on Mumbai-Indore Bus; Driver and Conductor Arrested, Main Accused Still at Large

Badhwani, MP: A distressing incident occurred on a private travel bus from Mumbai to Indore, where an IT professional was subjected to harassment. Following a complaint, the Sendhwa Gramin Police have filed a case against the bus driver, conductor, and a passenger from Nanded, Maharashtra, and have arrested the driver and conductor. The main accused remains absconding.

Incident Details

According to Sendhwa Gramin Station House Officer OP Singh Chaungde, the victim, an IT professional working in Mumbai, boarded the bus on 6th November after reserving her seat through an app. From the beginning, the driver Mukesh and conductor Kallu Mirasi behaved suspiciously, with strong odor of alcohol on them.

Approximately 100 km into the journey, a young Sikh passenger, Kishore Singh, entered the driver-conductor cabin. Later, he repeatedly approached the victim inappropriately, and when she tried to rest, he disturbed her in her seat.

The victim alerted her mother via phone, but Kishore Singh attempted to intimidate her, insisting she communicate with him instead. Upon reaching Sendhwa Toll Tax Barrier, Kishore allegedly pulled at her clothes and committed obscene acts while the driver and conductor failed to intervene. The mother eventually stopped the bus herself, ensuring her daughter’s safety.

Police Action

The victim’s mother accompanied her to Indore, where a complaint was first filed at Rajendra Nagar Police Station. Subsequently, Sendhwa police registered the case. The driver and conductor were arrested, and the bus was seized. The main accused, Kishore Singh, is currently untraceable and reportedly admitted to a hospital for health reasons.

According to authorities, Kishore Singh is known to perform devotional singing at a Gurudwara in Nanded. The investigation continues, and the police have urged passengers to report any misconduct immediately.
