
Indore, Madhya Pradesh: A shocking incident has come to light from Rauji Bazar police station area in Indore, where a Rapido bike driver allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl after luring her with the promise of cheap clothes. The girl had booked the bike to visit Rajwada for shopping. Following her complaint, police have registered a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act.
How the Crime Unfolded
The victim told police that she had booked a Rapido bike through a mobile application to travel to Rajwada. Upon reaching the destination, the driver misled her, claiming he could provide high-quality clothes at very low prices. Trusting him, the minor followed him to his room in the Pardesipura area, where he allegedly committed the assault.
Victim Escapes and Reports to Police
In a state of shock, the girl managed to escape from the perpetrator’s clutches and immediately approached Rauji Bazar police station to report the incident. Based on her statement, police have lodged a case against the unidentified Rapido driver under relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act.
Investigation Underway
Police are currently gathering details about the accused through the Rapido mobile application. Footage from CCTV cameras and ITMS cameras along the route from Rajwada to Pardesipura is also being reviewed to identify the suspect.
Official Statement
DCP Anand Kaladagi confirmed that a complaint had been received regarding the sexual assault of a minor by a Rapido driver in the area. “The FIR has been registered under the IPC and POCSO Act. Identification of the accused is underway using the mobile app, CCTV, and ITMS footage. Strict action will be taken once the culprit is apprehended,” he stated.
