Indore:
A major lapse in election-related duties has surfaced in Indore amid the crucial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. While hundreds of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across the district are working tirelessly from early morning till late night, a video of an election supervisor partying with vendors has gone viral, raising serious questions over the integrity of the process.
Supervisor Seen Dancing to “Tip Tip Barsa Pani” Amid SIR Delays
The viral video shows election supervisor Antim Dubey dancing in an intoxicated state to popular Bollywood track “Tip Tip Barsa Pani” at a farmhouse party. Several vendors—responsible for printing voter list sheets—are also seen dancing and drinking with him.
The moment the video surfaced on social media, the District Collector took immediate cognizance and initiated action.
Indore Lagging Behind in SIR Work
According to officials, the Indore district is already lagging behind in the SIR process due to delays in voter slip printing and verification. While the revision work is progressing swiftly in 12 other districts of the state, Indore has missed several key deadlines.
In the midst of this backlog, Supervisor Dubey had applied for leave from 17 November to 5 December, citing his son’s wedding as the reason. However, the viral video reveals that instead of attending personal functions, he was partying with vendors linked directly to the pending SIR work.
Party With Vendors Raises Serious Concerns
The video shows multiple vendors—responsible for printing voter lists—dancing in an intoxicated state. Sources say senior officers had already reprimanded the team due to repeated printing delays.
In such a scenario, the supervisor taking long leave and then appearing in a farmhouse party with the same vendors has become a major topic of discussion within administrative circles.
Collector Issues Show-Cause Notice
District Collector Shivam Verma immediately ordered strict action after the video came to his notice.
He confirmed that a show-cause notice has been issued to Antim Dubey, demanding an explanation for:
- The circumstances under which he took leave
- His presence at a private party during election duties
- The involvement of official vendors in the gathering
The Collector said:
“Such behaviour during an important national exercise like SIR will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
A separate inquiry has also been ordered to determine why vendors—who were supposed to be working on voter slip printing—were present at the party.
