India’s First Mango Theme Park Coming Up in Lucknow: 108 Varieties, Over 2,000 Plants, and Unique Attractions

Lucknow, UP: The city of Lucknow is set to host India’s first-ever mango-themed park, a pioneering initiative aimed at boosting tourism, promoting greenery, and conserving biodiversity. Spread over 15 acres near Kalli West on Raebareli Road’s Kisan Path, the park is being developed under the supervision of Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, who recently inspected the site and reviewed construction progress carried out by CNDS.

A Showcase of Mango Diversity
The park will feature 2,068 mango plants across 108 varieties, including popular types like Amrapali, Dasheri, Ambika, and Chausa. Designed under the Mission Amrit 2.0, the park will not only be a green oasis but also serve as a center for mango-based education, research, and awareness.

Mango Museum: A Digital Learning Hub
A highlight of the park will be the Mango Museum, being developed over 400 square meters, where visitors can explore 775 mango varieties found across India through interactive digital technology. The museum will offer detailed insights into the history, scientific properties, geographical diversity, and characteristics of mangoes, making it an ideal destination for students, researchers, families, and nature enthusiasts.

Mango Hut and Kiosks for Local Farmers
To promote local produce, the park will feature a Mango Hut showcasing mango products, providing farmers with better market access. Additionally, several mango kiosks will be set up across the park, offering a variety of mango products to visitors. Technical support is being provided by the Department of Horticulture and the Central Subtropical Horticulture Institute, Rehmakheda.

A Green Paradise with Modern Amenities
Enhancing the park’s beauty, a 1,930-square-meter pond will be developed with water lilies and lotus plants. Four mango-themed murals, a tree mural, and themed landscaping will further enrich the experience. Pathways will be named after mango varieties, and evening illumination will feature mango-shaped lights. The entry gate will welcome visitors with a giant stone mango sculpture.

Biodiversity and Mini-Forest Development
The park will also function as a biodiversity park, with 18,828 plants being planted across the area. Trees like banyan, peepal, amaltas, and gulmohar will line the boundary, while 1,260 plants of 20 species including mango, guava, amla, ashoka, jamun, lemon, karonda, and shisham will be planted using the Miyawaki method, creating a dense mini-forest.

Recreational Facilities for All Ages
For children, 17 modern rides will be installed, and ample benches will provide seating for families and tourists. The park is being designed as a comprehensive destination for both learning and leisure, catering to visitors of all age groups.

A Boost for Tourism and Environment
Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar emphasized that the mango park will play a vital role in promoting tourism, environmental protection, and biodiversity in Lucknow. The city administration is working swiftly to make the park a premier tourist destination, offering a unique gift for nature lovers and tourism enthusiasts in the region.
