Indian Railways Unveils Mega Plan of Special Trains to Bihar for Holi

Patna, Bihar: Indian Railways has rolled out an extensive travel plan for passengers heading to Bihar for Holi. The East Central Railway has announced the timetable for 13 pairs of special trains connecting New Delhi and Kolkata to various destinations across Bihar. Earlier, eight special trains had already been introduced, and additional services are expected in the coming days.

Delhi-Bihar Special Trains

Passengers from New Delhi can avail the following Holi specials:

  • Anand Vihar–Sheikhpura Special (04070/04069): Runs 20, 24, 27 Feb and 3, 6 Mar.
  • New Delhi–Barauni Special (04054/04053): Operates 20 Feb–6 Mar (outbound) and 22 Feb–8 Mar (return).
  • New Delhi–Supaul Special (04060/04059): 20 Feb–6 Mar (outbound) and 22 Feb–8 Mar (return).
  • Delhi–Sitamarhi Special (04010/04009): 26 Feb & 5 Mar (outbound), return 27 Feb & 6 Mar.
  • Anand Vihar–Laukaha Bazar Special (04014/04013): 27 Feb & 6 Mar (outbound), return 28 Feb & 7 Mar.
  • Anand Vihar–Khorha Road Junction Special (04066/04065): 27 Feb–3 Mar (outbound), 28 Feb–4 Mar (return).
  • Jaynagar–Amritsar Humsafar Clone Express (04651/04652): Extended operation from 1–31 Mar.

Kolkata-Bihar Special Trains

Passengers from Kolkata can avail the following services:

  • Howrah–Raxaul Special (03043/03044): 28 Feb, 7 & 14 Mar (outbound), return 1, 8 & 15 Mar.
  • Howrah–Raxaul Special (03045/03046): 1 & 2 Mar (outbound), return 2 & 3 Mar.
  • Sealdah–Madhubani Special (03183/03184): 28 Feb & 7 Mar (outbound), return 1 & 8 Mar.
  • Kolkata–Madhubani Special (03185/03186): 27 Feb (outbound), return 28 Feb.
  • Kolkata–Madhubani Special (03187/03188): 3 Mar (outbound), return 4 Mar.
  • Durg–Madhubani Special (08753/08754): 1 Mar (outbound), return 2 Mar.
  • Howrah–Khatipura (Jaipur) Special (03007/03008): 25 Feb & 11 Mar (outbound), return 27 Feb & 13 Mar.

The railway authorities have assured passengers that these measures aim to ensure smooth travel during the Holi festival, accommodating the surge in travelers heading home for the celebrations. With these additional trains, long queues and overcrowding are expected to be significantly reduced, allowing a safer and more comfortable journey for all.
