
Jaipur, Rajasthan: The Income Tax (IT) Department carried out a major operation on Wednesday targeting the Kanha Restaurant Group, one of the state’s most popular food chains. The largest part of the operation is taking place in Jaipur, where IT teams simultaneously raided 26 outlets of the chain. The raids are linked to alleged tax evasion and irregularities in financial transactions.
Nationwide Coordination
According to sources, IT teams from the Investigation Wing conducted simultaneous searches across six cities in Rajasthan as well as Mumbai, covering a total of 33 locations. Despite delays at some locations due to adverse weather, the investigation is ongoing at all outlets.

Scope of the Investigation
In Jaipur, the IT department is conducting an extensive survey and search operation at all 26 outlets. Additional inspections are underway at two locations in Udaipur and one location each in Sriganganagar, Kota, Karauli, Hindon, and Mumbai. Based on confidential inputs, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) joined the operation to probe alleged tax evasion and discrepancies in financial dealings.
Officials are examining digital records, account books, bank transactions, and other critical documents. The department has not yet released detailed information, and further disclosures are expected only after the raids are completed.
