
Kanpur: A video of a heated confrontation between a bank employee and a customer at a private bank in Kanpur is going viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.
The video shows Astha Singh, a female employee, engaging in an argument with a woman customer. In a moment of anger, Singh is seen saying, “I’m a Thakur. I’ll teach you a lesson.”
Incident at Panki Branch
Astha Singh is employed at a private bank branch in the Panki police station area. Reports suggest that the confrontation began over a disagreement between Singh and the female customer. The discussion quickly escalated, and Singh lost her temper.
Threat with a Laptop
The viral video clearly shows Singh in an aggressive stance. At one point, she lifts a laptop, threatening to strike the customer. Other bank employees can be seen intervening to calm her down.
Heated Words Exchange
During the altercation, Singh tells the customer: “Explain this to your husband, please.” The customer responds to other bank staff, saying: “I am telling her, but her language is inappropriate. Please correct her. I had called her sister; you can see it if there is a camera.” Singh replies aggressively: “You can’t correct my language. I’m a Thakur. I’ll teach you a lesson.”
Police Statement
The local police have confirmed that no official complaint has been filed regarding the incident. They stated that they will take action if a formal complaint is received.
The incident has once again highlighted tensions around social identity and workplace conduct, drawing attention to the behavior of employees in public-facing roles.
