Illegal Construction on Pond Land in Sambhal

The issue came to light in the Bhooda locality of Sarayatireen, a suburban area under the Hayatnagar police station in Sambhal. Lekhpal Champat Singh, accompanied by his team, arrived at the site and began measuring the land based on the complaints received. During the measurement process, there was considerable commotion among the local residents.

According to revenue records, the land in question is registered as a pond. The Lekhpal displayed a map showing the pond land to those present at the site.

Revenue Record and Legal Action

The revenue records of the Sambhal tehsil show that plot number 332, with an area of 332 air, is officially designated as pond land. After completing the measurement process, the Lekhpal and Kanungo will send their report to higher authorities. If illegal constructions are found to be encroaching on the pond land, the administration will initiate legal proceedings.

However, revenue officials have not yet commented on the measurement process. They are awaiting the official report before taking further action.

Lekhpal Champat Singh confirmed that the measurement was carried out under the instructions of higher authorities and reiterated that the land is recorded as a pond in the revenue records.
