If You’re Not Mine, You’ll Belong to No One”: Woman Brutally Murdered by Lover in Kutch, Gujarat

Bhuj, Gujarat: In a chilling crime that has sent shockwaves across Kutch, a woman was brutally murdered by her lover after she revealed that her second marriage was finalized. The attacker, consumed by rage, reportedly echoed cinematic lines before committing the murder.

The Incident
The victim, 28-year-old Zharina Daud Kumbar, a divorced woman, had been living at her parental home after separating from her first husband. She was in a seven-year-long relationship with Haresh Kanajibhai Gagl, a local man who worked at a dairy. On Sunday morning, Zharina’s lifeless body was discovered in the dairy premises in Dhori village, Bhuj Taluka. Her face and head were severely crushed with stones, indicating a brutal attack.

The Trigger
According to Bhuj DYSP M.J. Christian, Haresh had been called to the dairy by Zharina for what she said would be their final meeting. When she informed him, “My marriage is finalized”, Haresh allegedly said, “If you’re not mine, you’ll belong to no one” and attacked her with large stones repeatedly.

Aftermath and Arrest
The gruesome murder has left the local community in shock. Police quickly intervened, and Haresh has been arrested. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities working to establish the motive and recover further evidence.

Background
Zharina’s first marriage in Nirona village had ended in divorce three years ago. Since then, she had been living with her parents, while maintaining a long-term relationship with Haresh. The tragic incident highlights the extreme consequences of possessiveness and obsessive behavior in personal relationships.
