“If Lord Ram’s Name Is Not Taken in India, Should We Say ‘La Ilahi Allah’?”: Aparna Yadav Sparks Political Storm Over ‘Jai Ram Ji’ Bill

The passage of the controversial ‘Jai Ram Ji’ Bill in Parliament has ignited a nationwide political debate, with sharp reactions emerging from both the ruling party and the opposition. Protests have erupted in several states, including West Bengal, where Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs staged demonstrations against the bill. Amid the escalating controversy, BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission Vice Chairperson Aparna Yadav has delivered a strong and provocative response, questioning the opposition’s stance.

Reacting to Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav’s remarks on the bill, Aparna Yadav said, “If the name of Lord Ram will not be taken in India, then should we say ‘La Ilahi Allah’ in government schemes?” Her statement has added fuel to an already intense political confrontation.

Aparna Yadav emphasized that Lord Ram represents the ideals, culture, and values of India, and associating his name with public initiatives should be a matter of pride, not controversy. “Ram is our inspiration and cultural foundation. If his name is added to any initiative in our country, it is a moment of honor for us,” she said.

Quoting a Sanskrit verse in praise of Lord Ram, Aparna Yadav further remarked that those opposing such references reflect what she termed a “distorted and negative mindset.” Without naming any individual directly, she added that people who identify as Hindus but object to the use of Lord Ram’s name should introspect their beliefs. “If they truly consider themselves Hindu, they would not speak in such a manner,” she stated.

What Dimple Yadav Said

Earlier, Dimple Yadav had criticized the BJP, alleging that the ruling party was using the name of Lord Ram purely as a political tool to remain in power. She claimed that the government was leaving the country “at the mercy of Ram,” calling it an insult to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology. She also targeted the central government and the Delhi administration over rising pollution levels, saying children’s lungs were being damaged while the government lacked a concrete action plan and instead blamed farmers.

Political Tensions Intensify

The exchange of statements highlights the deep ideological divide surrounding the ‘Jai Ram Ji’ Bill. While the BJP projects the bill as a reflection of India’s cultural identity, the opposition views it as a politicization of religion. With protests, counter-statements, and sharp rhetoric continuing across states, the issue is fast becoming a major flashpoint in national politics.

As the debate intensifies, the bill has not only divided political parties but has also sparked wider discussions on religion, governance, and constitutional values in contemporary India.
