IAS Officer Abhay Singh Accused by Mother of Property Grab and Assault, Complaint Filed with Revenue Council Chairman

Lucknow:
Serious allegations have surfaced against IAS officer Abhay Singh of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, after his mother Rekha Singh accused him of illegally occupying her residential property in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh and subjecting her to physical and mental harassment.

Rekha Singh has formally submitted a written complaint to the Chairman of the Revenue Council, detailing the alleged incident and seeking administrative intervention.

In her letter, she claimed that Abhay Singh, accompanied by his wife, arrived at her Chittorgarh residence, verbally abused her, physically assaulted her, and issued threats. She further alleged that CCTV cameras installed at the house were deliberately damaged during the incident.

According to the complaint, fearing for her life, Rekha Singh locked herself inside a room. She alleged that continued mental harassment forced her to abandon her own house. She also accused the IAS officer of intimidating her through staff members.

Rekha Singh stated that she possesses messages, audio recordings, and video evidence related to the alleged harassment and threats, which can be produced before authorities if required.

Abhay Singh is a 2007-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. His name has earlier figured in controversies, including the alleged mining scam during his tenure as District Magistrate of Bulandshahr, when the CBI had conducted a raid at his residence and reportedly recovered cash amounting to nearly ₹50 lakh.

Officer Denies Allegations, Cites Property Dispute

Rejecting the accusations, IAS officer Abhay Singh said that his mother’s mental health condition is not stable and that the matter is essentially a long-standing property dispute.

He stated that his late father owned property in Bhilwara, in which he also had a legal share. According to him, the property was sold using a forged power of attorney in his name. He further alleged that his brother Akshay transferred around seven bighas of land to himself through a gift deed and had already accepted advance payments for other properties.

Abhay Singh said that upon learning about these developments, he proceeded to meet his mother after taking official leave. He claimed that senior family members were also present during the visit, but he was prevented from speaking to his mother and was himself assaulted.

He added that an FIR was lodged in Chittorgarh on January 3 in connection with the matter. The IAS officer further alleged that fake AI-generated voice recordings of him and his wife are being circulated to malign their reputation.

The matter is now under scrutiny, with complaints and counter-claims submitted before competent authorities. Further action is expected following examination of the evidence presented by both sides.
