Bhopal, February 16, 2026: Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Avi Prasad has made headlines with his third marriage to Deputy Secretary Ankita Dhakre. His previous two marriages were with fellow IAS officers, both of whom are currently serving as district collectors in Madhya Pradesh.
First Marriage: Riju Bafna
Avi Prasad, a 2014-batch IAS officer, first married Riju Bafna, also a 2014-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. The couple reportedly met while preparing for the UPSC examination. Riju Bafna is presently serving as the Collector of Shajapur district. Known for her strict administrative style, she has previously been involved in high-profile administrative matters, including allegations against officials and disputes during her tenure as SDM of Nagda. The marriage, however, did not last long, and the couple eventually parted ways.
Riju Bafna was born on September 28, 1988, in Chhattisgarh. Her father is a journalist and her mother a doctor in the Indian Railways. She completed her education at Kirori Mal College, Delhi, before joining the UPSC and subsequently serving in various districts across Madhya Pradesh.
Second Marriage: Misha Singh
Avi Prasad’s second marriage was with Misha Singh, originally from Uttar Pradesh. Misha Singh’s father is a farmer, and her mother is a homemaker. She holds an LLB degree and secured the 64th rank in the UPSC examination, joining the IAS. Currently, she is serving as the Collector of Ratlam district. The marriage ended in divorce after a few years.
Third Marriage and Current Spotlight
Following his divorce from Misha Singh, Avi Prasad married Deputy Secretary Ankita Dhakre, bringing him back into the media spotlight. Both of his former wives remain in prominent administrative positions in Madhya Pradesh, with Riju Bafna in Shajapur and Misha Singh in Ratlam. The third marriage has garnered public and media attention, though Avi Prasad has not yet commented publicly.
