Patna, Bihar – Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue & Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has reaffirmed his commitment to taking strict action against land mafias and corruption within the department. Speaking to journalists on Friday, he made it clear that he will not bow to any pressure or threats.
Crackdown on Illegal Activities
Minister Sinha warned that anyone involved in illegal activities related to land or departmental corruption must reform, or face consequences. “I have no fear of anyone. I am fully prepared to take decisive action against corruption and unlawful practices in the land sector,” he said, recalling that he had successfully contested elections in his constituency despite facing criminal elements. This experience, he added, has strengthened his resolve to tackle land mafias, middlemen, and corrupt officials entrenched in the revenue system.
Firm Measures and Zero Tolerance
Emphasizing transparency and public interest, Sinha stated that any departmental officer or employee who obstructs action against land mafias would also face strict consequences. “Honest officers working for public welfare will face no issues, but those supporting mafia activities will not be spared,” he warned.
During the Land Reforms Public Dialogue Program, the minister also mentioned that circle officers and other officials found guilty could be suspended. He stressed that all actions will be evidence-based and that the department will not tolerate irregularities of any kind. The primary goal of his campaign is to ensure a transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly land reform system in Bihar.
Minister Sinha concluded by asserting that wrongdoers in the state will no longer go unpunished, as the government and department officials are being guided to act firmly against corruption and malpractice.
