I Don’t Care, I Am Happy”: Mountaineer Anjali Sharma Hits Back at Trolls Targeting Her Husband’s Skin Colour

Shimla: Renowned mountaineer Anjali Sharma from Himachal Pradesh recently tied the knot with Yves Kaziuka, a civil engineer from Rwanda. Soon after the wedding, a section of social media users began trolling the couple, targeting Yves’ dark complexion with derogatory and racist remarks.

Unfazed by the negativity, Anjali responded with calm dignity. Taking to Instagram, she shared two photographs with her husband along with a strong message for the trolls.

“It Doesn’t Matter… I Am Truly Happy”

In her post, Anjali wrote:

“People are saying a lot about me and my husband. But it doesn’t affect me. I am extremely happy with him because he treats me with immense respect and affection. To those who comment without knowing anything about someone’s life—please refrain from doing so.”

In another post, she questioned the judgemental attitude of people:

“Everyone makes life decisions differently. Think and reflect—how can my decision be wrong if it brings me peace? Why are people so quick to call me wrong?”

Support From Fellow Mountaineer Baljeet Kaur

Well-known Indian mountaineer Baljeet Kaur extended her support through a heartfelt comment:

“When your soul feels happy with someone, remember — it doesn’t matter how that person looks. What truly matters is a pure soul and a pure connection. People will always have something to say, but stay true to yourself. Feel your strength, enjoy your peace, keep your inner child alive — and when someone gives you the same energy, hold their hand. Lots of blessings and love from us.”

Despite the online negativity, Anjali Sharma stands firm—celebrating her marriage, her choice, and her happiness, reminding society that love goes beyond colour, culture, and criticism.
