‘I Can Buy a Police Station for ₹1 Lakh’: Police Hunt for Dama Yadav After Viral Video in Agra

Agra: A controversial video showing a man allegedly claiming political influence and openly glorifying corruption has gone viral on social media in Agra, prompting police to register a case and launch a search operation to trace him.

The accused has been identified as Dama Yadav, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony under the Jagdishpura police station area. He reportedly projects himself as a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and was seen driving with a convoy of vehicles carrying an SP flag.

Viral Reel Sparks Outrage

In the viral Instagram reel, Dama Yadav is seen moving through city roads with a show of strength. The video features an objectionable audio track in the background, which includes a dialogue claiming that officials can be “bought” at different rates.

The audio reportedly states:
“Those who are scared are already dead. A constable for ₹1,000, an inspector for ₹10,000, and I am the dealer who can buy a police station for ₹1 lakh.”

The reel quickly triggered public anger, with several users commenting and calling him a “criminal posing as a political leader.”

Number Plate Replaced With Caste Reference

Police officials said the vehicle used in the video did not have a proper registration number plate. Instead, the number plate area reportedly displayed the caste-related word “Yadav,” which also raised legal concerns.

Police Register Case, RTO Report Sent

Following the viral video, Agra Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar directed officials to register an FIR against the accused. Jagdishpura police confirmed that a case has been filed and a report has been sent to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) seeking cancellation of Dama Yadav’s vehicle licence.

Police sources revealed that Dama Yadav had earlier posted similar videos and his vehicle had previously been seized, but he continued to upload such content on social media.

Samajwadi Party Distances Itself

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has distanced itself from the incident. SP city president Shabbir Abbas stated that Dama Yadav is not a party leader and is not recognised by the organisation.

“He is not associated with our party. No one in the party knows him. He does not even appear to be from Agra,” Abbas said.

Police are currently searching for Dama Yadav and investigating the matter further.
