Humanity Lost in Sitamarhi: Youth Killed, People Loot Fish from Roadside

A shocking incident in Sitamarhi district, Bihar, has left humanity questioning itself. A 16-year-old boy was run over by a pickup truck carrying fish, leading to his immediate death. However, instead of helping the victim or informing his family, bystanders reportedly focused on looting the fish scattered on the road.

The tragic event occurred near Jhajhit Chowk on the Pupree-Benipatti main road in the Pupree police station area. The truck driver, carrying a large quantity of fish, lost control of the vehicle, fatally hitting the teenager and seriously injuring another person. The truck then overturned, spilling its cargo across the road.

Eyewitnesses expressed disbelief at the behavior of people on the scene. While the victim lay lifeless on the roadside, some locals reportedly began collecting the fish in cloth bags and scarves, showing complete disregard for human life. The incident was captured in a brief video, which has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

According to local sources, the boy was on his way to a coaching center in Pupree when the accident occurred. The injured companion was rushed to a nearby Primary Health Centre for treatment. The truck and the boy’s body remained at the scene until police arrived.

Social media reactions have been filled with outrage and disappointment. Avinash Singh, a viewer of the viral video, commented that humanity seems to have vanished from society. Several others echoed similar sentiments, calling the incident a grim reflection of selfishness and insensitivity.

This tragic episode serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to revive empathy and humanity in society, even in the face of greed or personal gain.
