
Fatehabad, Haryana: In the wake of the Delhi metro blast, Fatehabad police have intensified security measures, including increased patrols at public places and thorough checks on vehicles. During one such operation on Wednesday evening, authorities recovered nearly ₹1.5 crore in cash from a car passing through Ratia Road.
According to Station House Officer Surendra, police received a tip-off about suspicious individuals carrying large sums of cash in a vehicle coming from Ratia. Acting promptly, the team set up a checkpoint and stopped a suspicious car. Upon searching it, police discovered the huge cash haul. Authorities immediately called Income Tax and Excise Department teams to assist in counting and verifying the currency.
Investigation Underway
Police are currently interrogating the occupants of the vehicle to determine the source of the money and its intended use. The recovered cash has been seized, and legal proceedings are underway.
Heightened Vigil After Delhi Blast
Fatehabad Police Superintendent Siddhant Jain, IPS, stated that over 400 personnel have been deployed across the district to monitor public safety and intelligence operations. “Following the Delhi blast, we are keeping a close watch on all suspicious activities, and no potential threat will be ignored. Law and order in the district remains our top priority,” he added.
Preliminary investigation has already provided some important leads, which are being coordinated with other agencies to confirm details. The police emphasize that security operations will remain strict across the district until further notice.
