Horse Goes Out of Control During Nitin Nabin’s Welcome Roadshow in Patna, Rider Thrown to the Ground

Patna, Bihar:
A massive show of strength marked the arrival of Nitin Nabin, the newly appointed National Executive President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in Patna on Tuesday. Thousands of party workers gathered on the streets of the state capital to welcome him during his first visit to Bihar after assuming the national post. However, amid the celebrations, an unexpected incident briefly caused panic when a horse participating in the roadshow suddenly bolted, throwing its rider to the ground.

Grand Welcome at Patna Airport

Senior BJP leaders were present at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport to receive Nitin Nabin. State BJP President Sanjay Sarawgi welcomed him with a garland of makhana, a symbol of Mithila’s cultural identity, while Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary honoured him with a shawl and bouquet. The entire route from the airport to the BJP state headquarters was lined with saffron flags, banners, and posters depicting Nitin Nabin seated on an elephant and a horse.

Horse Bolts, Rider Falls Amid Roadshow

During the roadshow, which featured a convoy of vehicles and ceremonial horses, one horse suddenly lost control and bolted, causing its rider to fall heavily onto the road. The incident led to momentary chaos, but security personnel and organisers quickly brought the situation under control. The programme continued without further disruption, and no serious injuries were reported.

Grand Felicitation at Miller High School Ground

The roadshow concluded with a grand felicitation ceremony at Miller High School Ground, where a massive stage was set up displaying portraits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the BJP’s national leadership. Several senior party leaders, including Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, along with Rituraj Sinha, Mangal Pandey, Dilip Jaiswal, and Sanjeev Chaurasia, formally felicitated Nitin Nabin.

Tight Security Arrangements

Given the large turnout and the political significance of the event, elaborate security arrangements were put in place. Entry to the venue was allowed only after strict checks, and a heavy police presence was deployed throughout the route and at the venue. Women party workers also performed traditional dances as part of the welcome celebrations.

Political observers view the roadshow as a showcase of BJP’s organisational strength and unity in Bihar ahead of the upcoming elections.
