Horrific Gangrape of Nurse in Maharashtra Hotel Shocks State

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra: A shocking incident of sexual assault has come to light in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where a woman nurse was gangraped in a hotel. The nurse had visited the hotel to meet a friend but accidentally knocked on the wrong room’s door. She was then subjected to a brutal attack by three men. The police have arrested all three suspects.

Details of the Incident
The incident occurred on Wednesday night near the railway station area. According to reports, the nurse works at a private hospital and is the sole earning member of her family, as her husband recently started working. Facing financial difficulties, she had sought help from a friend residing in Bhokardan, Jalna, who invited her to meet him at a hotel.

While reaching the hotel, she mistakenly went to another room on the second floor. Upon knocking, she found three men drinking inside. When she inquired about her friend, she was misled and told he was not there. As she turned to leave, one of the men allegedly claimed her friend was inside and forcibly pulled her into the room.

Assault and Escape
The men locked the door, forcibly gave her alcohol, and sexually assaulted her. Between 3 AM and 4 AM, the nurse managed to open the door, escape, and raise an alarm. She then filed a complaint at Vedant Nagar Police Station. The police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for gangrape, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation.

Suspects in Custody
The accused—Ghanshyam Rathod (27), Rishikesh Chavan (25), and Kiran Rathod (25)—are all friends. According to police, the Rathods work as bank recovery agents, while Chavan is an MBA student. They had gathered in the hotel room to drink alcohol. The nurse had mistakenly entered room number 205 instead of 105, which the men exploited to commit the crime. The police have sent the accused to four days’ custody.

The victim is a mother to a young child, adding to the tragedy of the horrifying incident.
