Patna, Bihar: The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Wednesday that, for the first time in recent years, no re-polling has been recommended at any of the 122 assembly constituencies where the second phase of voting was held on 11 November 2025. This marks a historic moment in Bihar’s electoral history, as voting in both phases concluded peacefully without any major disturbances or irregularities.
The Election Commission stated in an official release:
“After thorough scrutiny, no discrepancies or irregularities were found at any polling station, and therefore, no recommendation for re-polling has been made. This follows the first phase of elections, which also witnessed zero re-polling.”
Record Turnout Across Bihar
The Commission highlighted that the two-phase Bihar assembly elections recorded a historic voter turnout of 67.13% (provisional data), the highest since 1951. Among male voters, turnout was 62.98%, while female voter participation was notably higher at 71.78%.
Election Commission Initiatives
Since March 2025, the Election Commission has implemented 17 key initiatives focused on Bihar’s elections. These measures aimed to enhance voter convenience, streamline training for polling personnel, and promote technology-driven processes aligned with constitutional and legal frameworks.
Updated Voter List and Counting Tomorrow
The Election Commission also conducted a Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2025, to ensure an accurate and clean voter list. Based on this updated roll, 7,45,26,858 voters were eligible to cast their votes in the two-phase elections. Counting of votes is scheduled for tomorrow, which will officially declare the results of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
